North Carolina firm purchases St. Pete modern office furniture company

Dear St. Petersburg company that thrives on change in the business itself changed.

Interior Design Services of Florida Inc. has changed hands. Storr Office Environment Inc., an office furniture company based in Raleigh, NC, acquired the company - one of the largest women-owned businesses in the Tampa Bay area.

The purchase closed May 22.

Karen Arnold, the owner and president of IDS, declined to release financial details of the transaction. IDS is one of the largest regional office furniture dealer and have an income of more than $ 22 million in 2004.

Arnold plans to continue with the new company, worked in business development and community relations.

"This will be a transition that is transparent to clients and our employees," he said. "We're just going to take the IDS to the next level."

Storr operates in Raleigh and Greensboro, NC Under the current management in Raleigh, Storr grew more than 300 percent. The Greensboro facility, which Storr earned in 2003, has grown 300 percent since the acquisition.

He plans to complete the offering Tampa Storr space planning, installation, asset management and mobile services while providing additional services to clients.
