One of Australia's largest furniture manufacturers, Sarajane Furniture, is seeking to expand its operations in Cowra.
Sarajane Furniture is the largest manufacturer of furniture for national furniture chain color.
Company, Intraba Pty Ltd, currently has an application before Cowra Shire Council for additional storage to a big complex in William St.
Applications focused on the modernization, upgrade and expansion of an existing warehouse on the land owned by the William St Intraba
Involves dismantling the existing warehouse, concrete areas and double garage already in place, with the construction of new buildings clad metal.
According to the application, the proposed new development will be limited to a smaller scale cabinet making operations, packing, storage and delivery of finished products.
The number of staff who used to work in the new development will total six.
Lyall St residents have previously published their concerns about noise issues from the complex, but the company president Glen Scott said that the development will help control the noise, not produce it.
He described the new warehouse between the complex and residents as an effective buffer.
"The buffering effect of the proposed new barn would be very useful to help reduce noise, where the new plant will help to act as buffer solid sound attenuation between operations in Sarajane Furniture.
"In addition, intended to install acoustic foam around the existing housing cyclone exhaust fans located about 70 meters south of the proposed new warehouse, and an acoustic upright wall between the two existing factory buildings in the south of the new warehouse to reduce noise factory."
Submissions from neighboring closed last week and now the council to consider development.
