Local crafts fans might remember former Classy Curiosities, a gift shop operated by Deb Fuller. Although the store closed in 1999, Fuller continued to create decorative items and take them to events and festivals.

As one of the founders of Victorian Christmas Weekend, Fuller has been sold at the event and the creation of the Y-Wives Extravaganza in Tiffin. Now, he invited former customers to spring open house today from 10-6 and 10-4 on Saturday.

Fuller is having a Mother's Day and other spring merchandise to be sold in a small building behind her stay in St. Thomas 156 items, including silk and dried florals, swags, candles, potpourri and jewelry.

"We're going to have a mother / daughter bracelet would be something nice for Mother's Day," said Fuller.

Another attraction is the Amish dips for crackers and chips. Garden items include stepping stones, lanterns and garden plantation. A customer favorite is the vintage chair Fuller made a holder for live plants. He said the house is open to all former customers who always ask when he would open another store.

I started in 1989 at 2 Main St. Then I moved to Marinis Candy store (on North Washington), "Fuller said." I love my shop. "

After months of renovating the exterior and interior space, Fuller was in business for less than two years. A November rain the roof leaked and made a way through the story of the empty first floor store. He said slowly dripped into a river.

"We lost about $ 25,000 worth of merchandise," said Fuller.

Fuller lost muffle the craft, and illness in the family also remained out of there for a while. Now, he says he is ready to try again. Customers will be directed to a road on the west side of the house to the studio in the back. www.advertiser-tribune.com
