Furniture Brands International Inc. said Friday that members of the board Donald Lasater had resigned effective May 27.
Lasater, a retired chairman of the board and CEO of Mercantile Bancorp., Has become director of Furniture Brands Interco Inc. and its predecessors since 1970.
Lasater most recently served as chairman of the board of the Governance Committee and nominated.
Furniture Brands Chairman and CEO Mickey Holliman said in a statement, "Don showed me a desire to retire from the board several months ago, but he agreed to stay on until we were further along in this moment we are looking for new directors. That search is now almost concluded, and Don was determined to move forward with the plan. "
