Tips to Going Green With Bedroom Furniture

If you are one of the many people who have come to realize you left the carbon slightly larger than you want to be, you may be working on changing some of your habits to try and be a little more environmentally friendly. While in the kitchen this is a relatively easy thing to do, with full lines of kitchen supplies environmentally friendly. When it came time to become more green in the bedroom, you're probably not sure where to start. Here's a little help.

Prepping Room

If you're going to renovate the top down your bedroom you may want to start by changing the color of the walls or even change out the curtains. There was a problem. Let's start with the paint. Did you know it or not, there is paint a little more green than normal. When you're shopping, look for labels that do not have the VOC chemicals, or at least a low amount. When it comes to the curtain, looking for green materials such as cotton or hemp, which are both renewable resources.

Making Bed

Ready to dress up the bed? You can do this and still keep your green style! There are more and more organic materials in the market today. For starters, there is now a full lines of organic cotton sheets. Whereas in the past that you should really look for organic, and even discount department stores have them now-a-days. Also, look for a good pillow is made from natural materials such as hulls. Worried about that stuff in the pillow? Look for recycled polyester pillow with filling

Recycled Furniture

The first thing you should think about when you are decorating your bedroom is how little you can use the new resources. There are so many antiques and vintage stores out there, filled with beautiful furniture that still has much life in it. You never know what you'll find in these stores. Enjoy a walk on memory lane at the vintage and antique shops and watch out for pieces of furniture that will complete bedroom suites.

Add Real Green

While you're greening your room, why not bring real green into the room by placing a plant or two in the bedroom? There are several reasons you may want to crop or two of your room. First there's nothing like having a little nature in your house to brighten the situation and remind you why it was important to take care of the planet. Also, remember, the plants oxygen back into the air and suck out the carbon dioxide you breathe out. It's nice to breathe fresh air.

Energy-saving lamps

The last thing you need to think about is how you light your bedroom. Look at what is in your equipment and see if you can do better. There are all kinds of energy-saving lamps out there to choose from.
