Designer has furniture line ideas

Jessica McClintock, who started his fashion career grandmothers designing clothes for the flower children in the late 1960s, built a corporate licensing program that now also include fragrances, jewelry, handbags, sunglasses and lighting.
In High Point, NC, earlier this month, McClintock and CR Laine, a Hickory, NC, the furniture company, has launched a new seat Jessica McClintock collection.
Warren Frye, Laine's chief operating officer, said company representatives visited McClintock's 22-room Victorian house - formerly owned by film director Francis Ford Coppola - for inspiration.

Before creating the partnership, Laine considered McClintock's appeal to existing customers.
"His 30-year relationship with women in clothes is very important," Frye said. "As we all know, women influence the purchase of furniture."
